The Benefits of Multi-Program Enrollment

Demand Response (DR) helps keep the lights on! Different programs address electric grid constraints at various levels. Your participation in multiple programs helps support all types of grid emergencies, whether they are local or grid-wide.

You are compensated separately for each program that your site participates in. By enrolling the same site in multiple DR programs, you are increasing the revenue potential for that site.

Baseline	Flat baseline determined by your facility's Peak Load Contribution (PLC) in the summer or Winter Peak Load (WPL) in the winter during the previous year	Usage immediately prior to dispatch; performance is measured at the 10-minute mark. If the event persists and the customer starts restoring early, that will count against the curtailment they achieved at the 10-minute mark.
Dispatch Likelihood	LOW 2 – 5 dispatches, varies by zone. Last mandatory dispatch was in 2022. The rules allow dispatches to last 12 – 15 hours depending on the season but historical averages are 4 – 6 hours. Audit dispatch is 2 hours.	HIGH 10 – 20 dispatches, varies by zone. Enel provides a deep expertise to develop a bidding strategy in which you’ll see a return for participating. Dispatches are 9 minutes, on average, 30 minutes maximum.
Pricing	HIGH $98K – $170K per year (varies by zone) for agreeing to reduce 1 MW. Earn even if there are no emergency dispatches called. Significant energy payments are available when emergency events occur.	LOW $20k - $30k per year for agreeing to reduce 1 MW.  Earn even if there are no dispatches.

Keys to Success

1. Expect to be audited for ELRP for at least two hours each year, while SRM will be dispatched 10 to 20 times per year on average.
2. On-site generation, building control systems, and manually curtailing facility load are all eligible participation options in ELRP and SRM.
3. In the event that two programs are dispatched simultaneously, drop to the lower of your two targets to maximize earnings potential.
